Two transparent SR-TEK vessels with electric agitators and pressure gauges

STEL · STAG · CTEL Series

Agitated Pressure Vessels & Mixing Tanks

Electric or pneumatic agitation, 1–95 L, up to 6.9 bar.

Capacity
1–95 litres
Max working pressure
Up to 6.9 bar
Drive
Electric or pneumatic

SR-TEK agitated pressure vessels keep fluids homogeneous while they are dispensed. A stainless steel shaft and mixing propeller turn inside the pressurised vessel, driven by an electric motor (STEL and CTEL) or an air motor (STAG), so the material leaving the outlet stays consistent.

STEL vs STAG vs CTEL

THREE DRIVES.ONE HOMOGENEOUS FLUID.

Choose the series by drive and visibility. All three are pressurised vessels with a stainless steel shaft and mixing propeller, and alternative mixing elements are available on every model.

Mixing vs agitation

GENTLE BLEND.VIGOROUS DISPERSION.

Both blend substances, but they differ in mechanism and objective. SR-TEK agitated vessels cover both — a low speed for a gentle stir, a high one for fast agitation.

    Mixing

    Uniform, gently

    • Gentle stirring, shaking or tumbling
    • Minimal shear and energy input
    • Suits delicate, shear-sensitive materials
    • Aim: a homogeneous, consistent product

    Agitation

    Turbulence on purpose

    • Impellers or blades create turbulence and shear
    • Speeds up dispersion, heat transfer and reactions
    • Breaks up clumps and disperses gases
    • Aim: a faster, more thorough result

Agitated pressure vessel FAQ

TECHNICALQUESTIONS.

  • What is the difference between electric and pneumatic agitation?

The drive. Electric agitators (STEL and CTEL) use an electric motor with a controller, which gives fine, repeatable speed control. Pneumatic agitators (STAG) use an air motor driven from your compressed-air supply, with a throttle to set the speed and a filter regulator available for the air line. Both turn a stainless steel shaft and propeller inside the pressurised vessel.

  • Why keep a fluid agitated while it is dispensed?

Because many fluids do not stay uniform on their own. Blended components can separate or settle while a vessel sits under pressure between shots, so the material at the outlet slowly drifts from its specification. Agitating during dispensing keeps the fluid homogeneous and every shot consistent.

  • What is the difference between mixing and agitation?

Mixing gently combines components into a uniform distribution, usually by slow stirring that avoids excessive shear — the right choice for delicate materials. Agitation uses impellers or blades to create turbulence and shear, which speeds up dispersion, heat transfer or reactions and breaks up clumps. The choice depends on the fluid's viscosity, its sensitivity to shear and how quickly it needs to be homogeneous.

  • Can an agitated vessel be transparent?

Yes. The CTEL Series combines a clear acrylic or toughened glass cylinder with an electric agitator, in 2, 5 and 10 litre sizes rated to 4 bar, so you can watch the fluid being mixed while it is pressurised and dispensed.
